Ben Clark is a PhD candidate in architecture at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), supported by an FNRS-FRESH fellowship (Belgian Research Council, 2021-2025). He is affiliated with the Hortence lab for architectural history, theory, and criticism, as well as the Habiter Center for critical research in Architecture, colonial Heritage, and development. He holds a master’s degree in architecture (2017) and in sociology-anthropology (2021).

His doctoral research, supervised by Axel Fisher, investigates the history of postcolonial architecture through the lens of foreign-aid programs and technical expertise in Morocco, with a particular focus on the activities of the Centre d’Expérimentation, de Recherche et de Formation (CERF, a research center active in Morocco between 1967 and 1972).

He is also the co-founder of RHAM (Réseau de recherche sur l’Histoire de l’Architecture au Maroc, https://rham.hypotheses.org/), an international research network dedicated to the study of Moroccan architecture in the 20th and 21st centuries.

His recent publications include issue 25 of the ABE Journal (Architecture Beyond Europe), under the title ‘Moroccanization: Architecture and (In)dependence,’ which he co-edited.
